No way I’d miss this – Good food and fabulous cause…..
The Women’s Fund, a component of The Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County, announces its 2006 event Food for Thought, an evening of fine wines and hors d’oeuvres prepared by local women chefs, caterers, and business owners. Sample delicious appetizers like chicken satay, Caesar dip with romaine dippers, almond rumaki and bruschetta, then indulge in fresh-baked mini cheesecakes, pastries, and a chocolate fountain. Some of the vendors scheduled to participate include: Laurel Run Cooking School, Just a Bite Bakery, Super Suppers, and the Vintage House Café’. In between sipping wine and sampling food items, pamper yourself with a chair massage and learn new makeup techniques. Door prizes and a raffle for a designer purse will add to the fun.
Food for Thought is the annual fundraiser of The Women’s Fund, a permanent endowment held at The Community Foundation of Greater Lorain County, which makes grants annually to nonprofit programs which benefit women and girls. Grant recipients of The Women’s Fund include the Rape Crisis Center, YWCA, Cornerstone Pregnancy Services, and Genesis House.
Food for Thought will take place on Friday, October 20, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at DeLuca’s Place in the Park, Lorain. Tickets are $35 apiece presale or $40 at the door the evening of the event. Bring a canned food item to benefit North Ridgeville Community Care and receive a raffle ticket good for a chance on the designer purse.
