what customer service?

Like most folks, I’ve embarked on the annual holiday shopping b.s. Since I have a specific gift in mind, I’m scouring the internet for the best deal. As a small business owner / merchant myself, I like to give my business to other independent entrepeneurs, but I also know to be very careful. I found two different merchants with the item I want, and I sent emails to both double-checking on a couple of ambigious things in their description or otherwise.

Neither have replied back and it’s been nearly 48 hours.

I understand that folks can’t be tied to their computers 24/7 but blackberries and the like will actually deliver your messages to you instead of the other way around. When you’re running a small business, you’re competing with every giant corporation out there so you have to be better than they are in order to survive.

When someone is trying to give you their money, it’s in your best interest to make it as easy as possible for them to do so. Customers are fickle; they’ll find another merchant.

I needed service on my MAC recently – found three providers on the internet emailed them through their sites. Two never got back to me and the other took 5 days.
